| CA-NEWS (TM) - Ekovitrin magazine, published in Istanbul, named Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a distinguished statesman of the year. Senior editors of the magazine, who are visiting Ashgabat, met with the president of Turkmenistan yesterday and informed him about this decision, which was taken on results of the readers opinion poll.
"The innovative policy of the Turkmen president has earned him and Turkmenistan a high international prestige and worldwide recognition," said Kamuran Abajyogly, head of Ekovitrin media group.
The guests handed over to the president of Turkmenistan the diploma of the distinguished statesmen of the year and an original sculptural composition of silver and modern polymeric materials, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent was told in the press service of the Turkmen president.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he regarded this high award as the recognition of talent and diligence of the Turkmen people, their outstanding achievements in implementing major reform in all spheres of life in Turkmenistan.
