| CA-NEWS (TJ) - Iran and Tajikistan will cooperate to establish a joint TV channel which will broadcast programs for people in Persian speaking countries.
The Head of Tajikistan's State Radio and Television Committee, Assadullah Rahmanov, said on Wednesday that the TV station will be based in Tajikistan, IRNA reported.
"The preliminary agreement to establish the TV station was reached when the presidents of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan met in Dushanbe two years ago," Rahmanov said.
"Tajikistan will use the valuable experiences of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of broadcasting technology," he added.
Rahmanov expressed hope that the TV channel would be aired in the near future.
Tajikistan attaches great importance to boosting relations with Iran, he concluded.
