CA-NEWS (KZ) - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev instructed the government to develop tourism on January 27. He addressed to the people of Kazakhstan within "Socio-economic modernization - the main vector of development of Kazakhstan".
"The share of the tourism totals up to 10% of GDP in developed countries. We have less than 1%. We must examine the whole country of the growing point of tourism," he said.
The president noted that an important issue is to develop world-class ski resort near Almaty. He emphasized the fact that the ski resorts spend 6 times more than by the sea.
"This is a very profitable business for the state, but we have to invest in infrastructure of Almaty. I instruct the Government in this regard to develop a systematic plan for the development of this unique area," the president added.
