CA-NEWS (TM) - The Executive Committee of the Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of the Romanian Academy unanimously decided to award the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to the prestigious international title "Man of the Year" for 2010.

The decision to award the Turkmen leader to the laureate of "Man of the Year" award was taken on August 30, 2010 at an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the Institute, reported the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).

In his letter to the president of Turkmenistan, director of the Institute of international relations and economic cooperation of Romania Prof. Dr. Anton Karadzhea stressed that the decision of the diplomatic elite and cultural circles of Romania, united under the auspices of the Institute, "is due, above all, the personal contribution of the Turkmen leader in the construction of safe peace, building bridges of friendship between Europe and Asia, the active development of Turkmen-Romanian relations."
