| CA-NEWS (TM) - Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan headed by Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan Mohammad Sharif Sharifi visited Ashgabat. As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports referring to the official statement, the delegation members held meetings in the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan. During the meeting the sides underlined the importance of building the Turkmen-Afghan cooperation in trade, economic and energy sectors. They noted the importance of construction of the Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which "will be an important contribution to the consolidation of political and socio-economic stability in the region."
