Explosion in Dushanbe disco-club declared as terrorist act

CA-NEWS (TJ) - The explosion which occurred on Monday night in a disco-club "Dusti" in Dushanbe city is recognized as terrorist attack.


Fragments of an improvised explosive device were found on the place of explosion, said CA-News source in the law enforcement structure. "A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the explosion. It is investigated by the State Committee of National Security."


The explosion wounded seven people; two of them are in serious condition.


This is the second terrorist attack committed in Tajikistan over the past three days.


The Regional Department for Combating Organized Crime of Sughd (north of the country) police department was attacked on September 3. A car packed with explosives broke into the territory of the Department when two official cars of were returning from the town after the investigation at 8 o'clock. The blast killed three people, including the assailant, another 27 wounded, including two civilians.


The Interior Ministry does not exclude the possibility that an explosion in the police department may be related to the terrorist organization Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (now Turkestan).
