Navoi region leads on growth of retail trade turnover in 1H 2010

CA-NEWS (UZ) - Retail trade turnover grew in all regions of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2010. In the reporting period, Navoi region led on the growth of retail trade turnover with 20.2%.

According to the State Statistics Committee, significant growth of retail trade turnover was also registered in Jizzakh (0.3%) and Karakalpakstan (16.9%).

At the same time, the smallest growth of retail trade turnover was observed in Tashkent city (0.3%), Tashkent region (11.2%) and Khorezm region (12.2%) in 2009.

In money terms, Tashkent city (2.484 trillion soums), Tashkent region (1.074 trillion soums) and Ferghana region (799 billion soums) made up Top-3.

The smallest volume of retail trade turnover was observed in Syrdarya region (168.6 billion soums), Jizzakh region (262.8 billion soums) and Karakalpakstan (312.3 billion soums).

The highest volume of retail trade turnover per capita was recorded in Tashkent city - 1.1 million soums, which is 3.23 times higher than national figure (340,000 soums).

As earlier reported, retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan comprised 9.588 trillion soums in January-June 2010, which is up 10.3% year-on-year.
