Level of educational system in Tajikistan declined significantly over independence years
3 September 2010, 15:31

CA-NEWS (TJ) - Research shows that literacy rate falls throughout the world. It falls particularly rapidly in the space, once constituted one-sixth of the land, whose citizens were once most reading people on the planet. Tajikistan, where the level of the educational system declined significantly since the gaining independence, is not an exception, said stan.tv.

According to the report of UNDP on Human Development Index for 2009, Tajikistan is on the 127th place among 182 countries. And according to UNICEF, less that half of children graduate from the schools of Tajikistan graduate and almost 30% of primary school age children do not attend the schools. The schools are attended by more boys than girls, and the difference in education between the sexes continues to grow. Authorities are trying to save the situation. President Emomalii Rahmon declared 2010 year as the "Year of Education and technical knowledge." But how to implement the technical knowledge, when people can not even read? What is the reason of literacy reduction among youth? This is a very important question, the answer to which would remedy the situation.
