President Islam Karimov: Uzbekistan’s main aim is to join list of developed states

CA-NEWS (UZ) - The main goal of Uzbekistan is to enter to the list o developed democratic states of the world, the Uzbek leader Islam Karimov stated at his speech dedicated to the 19th anniversary of Independence of the country.

President Islam Karimov added that two equal and associated key tasks should be solved to achieve this target.

He said first, the country should ensure worthy level of Uzbekistan's development and well-being of population due to deepening reforms and structural transformation in economy, boosting the growth of social-economic and technological development.

Second, the works on modernization and liberalization, democratic modernization of political, legal and economic system, formation of strong civil society should be continued, he added.

The President of Uzbekistan underlined that achievement of these tasks will require painstaking and tireless work, mobilization of power and energy of all nation.

He said that he pins a hope on young generation. He said youth can be decisive force, which will be able to take responsibility of the country's future.
