CA-NEWS (TJ) - President Emomalii Rahmon called women of the republic to renounce the use of foreign style in their clothes. "I often watch the young people, mostly girls and Tajik women. You copy a style of clothing from other countries," said the President at an event dedicated to the Day of Knowledge in the Tajik National University on September 1. Speech by the head was broadcasted by the state television channels.
He urged women in Tajikistan to be thankful for the opportunity to be free.
"Be grateful to your country. If you appreciate the civility and culture of this ancient nation, then you're already satisfied with its style in clothes. Be grateful for this freedom," said Rahmon.
He warned that women who prefer to dress in the style of other countries will be sent to those countries. President's press office noted that the president was referring to women who prefer the style of the national Indian, Pakistani, Iranian, Arabic and Turkish clothing.
