| | European Parliament to host conference of Aral Sea

| CA-NEWS (UZ) - A conference dedicated to the problems of Aral Sea will be held at the European Parliament this autumn.
Struan Stevenson, member of European Parliament, said in interview with Jahon news agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan that he visited Aral Sea within his visit to Karakalpakstan and he was shocked with ecologic situation in the region.
He said that the main goal of his visit was search solution for this problem with assistance of the West. He added that wide-scale conference dedicated to problems of Aral Sea will be held at the European Parliament this autums.
"I welcome measures, adopted by the Government of Uzbekistan, directed to improvement of situation in the Aral region," Stevenson said.
