CA-NEWS (KZ) - Representatives of the Körber Foundation headed by Executive Director for International Affairs Thomas Paulsen have visited the Kazakh Parliament on Tuesday, August 31. The press service of the Majilis reports.
Deputies of Majilis Committee on International Affairs, defense and Security Viktor Rogalyov, Natalya Gellert and Kamal Burkhanov received the guests.
"Annually the Foundation members leave for a country which has special strategic significance for Germany. Today's visit to Kazakhstan is held in the important time. In 2010 Kazakhstan assumed the presidency of the OSCE. In December, 2010 Astana will hold the OSCE Summit, and this year the country celebrates the Year of Germany", Thomas Paulsen said.
It is noted that Kazakhstan and Germany has many sectors where both sides are interested in partnership. It is the issues of stability maintenance in Afghanistan, energy security, drug trafficking, resources security, international crime and terrorism, coexistence of representatives of religions and faiths, Iran problem and other topical issues.
Rogalyov informed the guests of independent Kazakhstan's achievements, the bicameral Parliament's structure, President Nursultan Nazarbaev's policy which is directed to nuclear disarmament, interethnic and interfaith concord maintenance.
