CA-NEWS (UZ) - Authorities arrested four suspected militants August 14 after a shootout in Tashkent region that wounded one suspect.

The four detainees are Bakhrom Soipov, Shavkat Tozhiboyev, Gulom Islamov and Dilmurod Yusupov.

They are extremists whose goal was to kill police officers.

The suspects reportedly did not receive financial support from abroad. Soipov has been wanted since a gun battle in March 2008 in Kibrai District of Tashkent Oblast injured 12 policemen.
