CA-NEWS (TM) - Head of State Drug Control Service of Turkmenistan Aman Karaev reported on ongoing work to strengthen the fight against smuggling and drug trafficking at the meeting of State Security Council on August 30, reported Gundogar.

In particular, it was reported that as a result of operational activities carried out jointly with the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Security in the Balkan and Lebap provinces criminal groups engaged in transporting and selling drugs in large-scale were eliminated. People, from whom dozens of kilograms of smuggled drugs, heroin, large amounts of money in foreign currency and local currency, as well as cars and trucks of various brands bought for the funds received from the sale of drugs were seized, were arrested.
