29 March 2010, 12:34

CA-NEWS (CA) - The CIS foreign ministers stated their determination to assist Kazakhstan so the country's chairmanship in the OSCE was maximum successful, Kazinform reported on March 26.

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov states this following the results of the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states in Moscow on Friday, March 26.

A wide range of issues, in particular, within the framework of the Kazakh chairmanship in this Organization was discussed, he reported.

"We actively support Kazakhstan's activity," Lavrov said.

"Today we adopt special decision, on which we support Kazakhstan's work on the post of the OSCE Chairman. We also back Kazakhstan's initiative on holding the OSCE Summit in 2010. We state our determination to assist Kazakhstan so its chairmanship in the OSCE was maximum successful," Lavrov noted.

The CIS states expect execution of the program the country has proposed to the OSCE member states from Kazakhstan, Lavrov mentioned.

The OSCE needs strengthening for being a real full-fledged organization with its charter and operating instructions.
