Rakhmon: Tajik parliamentary elections are close to democratic

Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon acknowledged the Tajik parliamentary elections which took place on March 28 transparent and democratic. He said that the elections were held in peaceful and stable conditions.

 

According to him, the new parliament needs to speed up the solving of social and economic problems on the legislative level.

 

He expressed the readiness of the government to cooperate with political parties and notice dthat programs of these parties will be studied. On the base of the sorted suggestions there will be created one common program directed to the increase of the quality of level of life of people and economic development of the republic.

 

He noticed that main priorities of the internal policy of Tajikistan are energy independence, overcoming of transport-communication dead end and provision of food security.

 

He also noticed that the corruption is one of the main problems of Tajikistan and thinks that the whole Tajik society must participate in solving of this problem.

 

Rakhmon said that he will appoint Saydullo Hayrulloev to member of the Upper Chamber of the Tajik Parliament. The elections to the Upper Chamber of Tajik Parliament will take place on March 25.
