CA-NEWS (KZ) - Ratification of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and French Republic was discussed in the Committee on International Relations, Defense, and Security of Kazakh Senate today, the press service of the Upper Chamber of the Parliament reported.

The Agreement was signed in Paris on July 11, 2008.

In accordance with the Article 1 of the Agreement Kazakhstan and France establish their relations on the basis of equality, mutual trust, strategic partnership, and multilateral cooperation. The goal of the document is development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and France in political, economical, scientific, technological, ecological, informational, humanitarian, cultural, and other spheres, and also strengthening of its legislative basis.

French Republic is the first European country to conclude analogous international agreement with Kazakhstan.
