CA-NEWS (KZ) - Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case on the fact of death of people in the flood in Almaty region. The case was opened under Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan Articles 315 (neglect of duties) and 316 (negligence), Ministry's press service reported. A number of district officials were detained upon the fact, including the akim of Kyzylagash rural district. Heavy rains and melting of snow caused the breakdown of the dam on Kyzyl-Agash water reservoir which resulted in flood last Thursday. More than 80% of constructions were destroyed, 37 persons died.
