CA-NEWS (TJ) - Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon met with French President's special representative in Central Asia Emery de Montesquieu in Dushanbe on last week. During the meeting sides discussed conditions and perspectives of the bilateral cooperation. Rakhmon called France the main partner of Tajikistan in Europe. He expressed satisfaction with the level of the cooperation in sphere of politics and noticed the cooperation of defense departments of two countries, according tot he press service of the Tajik President. Montesquieu said that both sides are interested in the cooperation. During the discussion of questions of the economic cooperation sides expressed their mutual interest in the widening of the cooperation in spheres of industry, hydropower, agriculture and creation of joint ventures. Tajikistan has land and human resources potential and advantageous climate conditions which can be used for the development of the agriculture. France can help Tajikistan in this direction, Montesquieu said. He noticed that French companies are interested in the technical study of Tajik hydropower stations which are under construction. He expressed interested of the French side in the finalization of the construction of new terminal in Dushanbe international airport by September 2011. France allocated 20 million Euro credit for this project. The total price of the project is 27 million Euro. Montesquieu also noticed the role of Tajikistan in the improvement of the Afghan situation. During his visit Montesquieu met with Tajik Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddionv. Sides exchanged their opinions concerning questions of the cooperation of two countries in sphere of finance and measures for the overcoming of the world crisis undertaken by Tajikistan.
