Japan to help Tajikistan in construction of two small hydropower stations

CA-NEWS (TJ) - Japan will allocate $188.5 thousand for the construction of two small hydropower stations in Rasht and Roshtkala regions of Tajikistan.

According to the the signed grant contracts $95.5 thousand will be allocated for the construction of the station in Rasht region and $93 thousand for the construction of the station in Roshkala region, according to the Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe.

The embassy noticed that both projects are directed to the non-interrupted provision of citizens with electricity and improvement of life conditions.

Under these projects it is planned to construct small hydropower station of power of 120 kilowatt in Rasht region and to increase twice the power of the already existing small hydropower station which was constructed by local residents.

In Roshtkala region there will be constructed the small hydropower station of power of 400 kilowatt which will provide two residential places with electricity. The project will create condition for the stable development of the region and improvement of the economic conditions of the population, according to the Embassy.
