External turnover of Sogd region reduces 11%

CA-NEWS (TJ) - The external turnover of the Sogd region in January-February 2010, including electric energy and natural gas totaled $112 million 275.5 thousand which is $14 million 693.5 thousand or 11.6% lower in comparison to the same period of the previous year, according to the Customs Department of Tajikistan

Sogd region traded with 43 countries. 10 of them are CIS countries and the rest 33 are non-CIS.

59.6% of the external turnover fall at CIS countries. This is $66 million 898.8 thousand. The rest 40.4% or $45 million 375.7 thousand fall at non-CIS countries.

Main export partners of Sogd region were Russia with 42.7% of the total amount of export, China with 10.7%, Switzerland with 9.8%, Italy with 6.6%, Turkey with 6.5%, Ukraine with 6.0%, Kazakhstan with 4.0% and Belarus with 1.6% of the total amount of export.

The import partners were mainly CIS countries. 35.5% of the total amount of import falls at Russia, 14.0% at Kazakhstan, 3.9% at Uzbekistan, 2.2% at Kyrgyzstan and 1.5% at Turkmenistan, 13.2% at China, 7.9% at Lithuania, 3.7% at Korea, 3.4% at Iran, 2.6% at Turkey, 2.2% at Luxembourg and 1.4% falls at Latvia.

Electric energy totaled 1.1% in the external turnover. The import of electric energy in January-February 2010 totaled 29.9 million kilowatt hours in the amount of $1197.1 thousand.

The import of natural gas totaled 5.1 million cubic meters in the amount of $1165.8 thousand, according to the State Statistics Committee of Tajikistan.
