CA-NEWS (UZ) - The meeting of the head of GTZ (German Society for Technical Cooperation) in Uzbekistan Irmin Hofmann with representatives of Uzbek and foreign mass media was held in German Embassy in Tashkent on March 9, Uzmetronom reported. GTZ is working in more than 100 countries with a purpose of stable improvement of the quality of life of people, Mr Hofmann stated. GTZ in Uzbekistan is working on promoting reforms in spheres of economy, education, ecology, law, health, and social life. It has been functioning in Tashkent since 1992. Mr Hofmann advised to solve the argument over construction of Rogun hydroelectric plant, which became the source of tense relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, by means of negotiations.
