China plans to connect Central Asia with Europe by means of railroad network
11 March 2010, 18:20

CA-NEWS (CA) - China is planning to connect Central Asia with Europe by means of railroad network, Chinese Engineering Academy reported. At this time the country holds negotiations with a number of countries located in South-Eastern and Central Asia.

One of the possible routes will connect the south of China with Singapore passing Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Another route will connect the north of China with India passing Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Finally, the third direction stretches from the north-east of China to Western Europe passing the territory of Russia.

17 countries will potentially take part in realization of the project. The term of project realization constitutes 10-15 years.

With the new railroad system, the trip from London to Beijing will take only two days, The Daily Mail reported.
