Rakhmon assigns security agencies to cooperate in fight against criminality

CA-NEWS (TJ) - Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon assigned Tajik law enforcement agencies and security structures to cooperate in the fight against criminality in the country.

He noticed that the number of registered crimes in 2009 increased 6.7% in comparison to 2008.

He assigned the Internal Affairs Ministry to find reasons of the raising of criminality rates, analyze the situation and take measures to reach rates of the program on fight against criminality for 2008-2015.

Rakhmon noticed that during the last 10 years there were neutralized 290 armed criminal groups. Law enforcement agencies also succeeded in prevention of human trafficking. According to him such crimes reduced 50% during the last two years.

He called security agencies to develop regional and international cooperation in order to increase the efficiency of the fight against organized criminality, terrorism, extremism, drug and human trafficking and other transnational crimes.

He also assigned security agencies to check their personnel and dismiss suspicious people.

The President noticed that the Tajik government take all measures for the perfection of the work of its law enforcement agencies. According to him, during the last five years there were constructed and reconstructed more than 100 administrative buildings and other objects of the Internal Affairs Ministry. The financial provision of the personnel increased 15 %.
