CA-NEWS (TJ) - Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Ambassador of the European Union to Tajikistan in Dushanbe Edward Auer on February 5. The EU Ambassador handed credentials to the Tajik Foreign Minister.

During the meeting sides discussed questions of bilateral cooperation and priorities of the cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU. They also discussed questions of the regional security, relations of Tajikistan with neighboring countries, economic situation in the country, water-energy problems, preparation for the oncoming parliamentary elections and other international questions of mutual interest.

The Eu Ambassador familiarized the Tajik Foreign Minister with changes in EU structures related to the EU foreign policy. He also noticed EU plans on further dialogue under the the EU strategy in Central Asia.

In the meeting also took part Vice Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Ozoda Rakhmonova and Vice Prime Minister of the EU in Tajikistan Charlotte Adriaen
