CA-NEWS (UZ) - President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On mandatory state social insurance against accidents at production and occupational diseases" on August 10, reported Uzreport. The law will help further improve the protection of social and economic rights of people, and provide social support to the population. The main aim of the new law is to strengthen legal rights and guarantees for employees, who suffered from accident at work or occupational diseases, tasks and mechanisms on regulation of relations in this area. The law consists of 18 articles and takes into account interests of employers, employees and the government. It ensures fair and secure work conditions, protection of labour rights and health of employee. The article four determines tasks on mandatory state social insurance. It will ensure social protection of citizens and payouts in case of damage to health or life of the workers, as well as improve labour protection. It also regulates relations among off-budget Pension Fund under Finance Ministry (insurer), individual with contract obligation and legal entity or individual, who hired individual person on labour contract. The resources to mandatory state social insurance formed due to insurance premiums, penalties and other earnings, not prohibited with the legislation of Uzbekistan. The insurer should pay compensation at the occurrence of an insured accident. The payouts paid as pensions and allowance. Payouts will be paid by regional and city branches of social welfare. According to estimates, annual financial expenses on mandatory state social insurance will make up 399 billion soums, of which 347 billion fell to share of state insurance and 52 billion sums to employees.
